Top Podcasts To Keep You Motivated

It’s a new month, a new year, and to top it all off, it’s a brand new decade! And it’s filled to the brim with new possibilities and bucket loads of potential. Come January 1st, we feel full of optimism and hope for the future. We make our New Year’s resolutions and see the world through rose-tinted glasses. Come the second week of January, however, and statistically, this is where the majority’s motivation begins to fade. In fact, a study conducted by Strava zeroed in on January 12th1 as the day most resolutions say “Adios!”, and consequently has been not-so-affectionately dubbed “Quitter’s Day”.

Well, we refuse to fall victim to the infamous 12th day of January – or any other day in this coming year that seeks to rob us of our motivation for that matter – and so we’re replenishing our arsenal with our top motivational podcasts to keep any negativity at bay. And because we never leave any man or woman behind, we’re sharing our list with you! Hit play on any of the following when your motivation is waning, and you’ll be sure to come back stronger than ever in no time!

1. Goal Digger Podcast

Jenna Kutcher, the host of Goal Digger Podcast, is one impressive gal. She’s a self-made millionaire (WOW!), entrepreneur and all-round business powerhouse!  If you’re a budding entrepreneur, wanting to enhance your marketing and business skills, or just need some extra motivation on your journey to world domination, this podcast is perfect for you.

It’s crammed full of valuable content, but it’s also inspiring listening to Jenna’s experiences and the insights she’s gleaned on her own journey. Her approach is honest and transparent, she shares stories of her failures and mistakes, not only her successes, which is really helpful when you’re feeling like you’re missing the mark. Pop on one of her episodes, absorb all you can, and I’ve no doubt in no time you’ll feel like you’re ready to conquer the world again!

2. Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Let’s face it, the current state of the world is not geared towards creating happiness. If we turn on the news, very rarely are we going to be presented with information that will leave us feeling even remotely joyous. Now don’t get me wrong, the news is important, it’s just very unlikely that more bad news is going to motivate me in my day-to-day life. On top of that, we have bills to pay, taxes to take care of, and Joneses to keep up with! I’m actually a little sad just thinking about it! But thankfully, I’ve got Gretchen Rubin and her podcast to turn to.

Happier with Gretchen Rubin not only sounds super cheerful, but it’s focused on helping us lead happier lives. Who wouldn’t want that?! Through practical strategies and the forming of some good habits, Gretchen and her sister and co-host, Elizabeth Craft, show us that we can, indeed, cultivate happiness in our lives without depending on outside entities to do it for us. The show is thought-provoking, insightful, and just a real feel-good listen. The intimate dynamic of a conversation between sisters also adds a special element to each episode, giving us a variety of perspectives on their fascinating and well-researched topics. So if you’re needing a little more joy in your life – and let’s be honest, who doesn’t? ‒ then Happier might just be that serotonin boost you’re looking for to help keep those motivation levels at an all-time high.

3. The Ed Mylett Show

Ed Mylett is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, a world-renowned life and business strategist, and a best-selling author. He’s also the host of one of the top business podcasts, The Ed Mylett Show, where he inspires and motivates his expansive audience to reach their goals, achieve their dreams, and be the best version of themselves that they can possibly be. This guy really knows his stuff, if his $400 million2 net worth is anything to go by!

Whatever area of your life you’re looking to improve – be it your body, your relationships, or your mindset – you’ll find plenty of content to inspire you and give you that spark you need to follow-through and make those changes. Not only that, but he interviews inspiring individuals, with expertise in a variety of fields, like relationship expert, Michael Hussy, or New York Times best-selling author, Marie Forleo (we’ll hear more about Marie later), making this podcast a go-to no matter the area you’re needing motivation in. His episode, X-Factor For Success in 2020, is particularly relevant for some new year’s motivation and just what you need to hear to start the year off with a bang! Give it a listen, and you’ll see why his show has a rating of 4.9 with over 7,000 reviews!

 4. The Marie Forleo Podcast

If the great Oprah Winfrey calls someone a thought leader for the next generation, then you that person must have something special. And Marie Forleo definitely does. Author of the wildly successful Everything is Figureoutable, she also hosts The Marie Forleo Podcast, a show where she inspires and motivates us to pursue the person we want to be and the dreams we want to achieve.

Her manner is instantly likable, the episodes are punchy and full of energy, and you’ll feel yourself pumped and rearing to go in a matter of minutes. Listening to Marie is like having your own personal cheerleader in your corner, cheering you on to achieve your dreams and desires. You’ll feel inspired to blow the dust off your dreams, take the plunge, seize the day, and all the other steps you need to do to see your dreams become reality. Equipped with the knowledge that everything is, in fact, figureoutable, there will be no stopping you!

5. The Tim Ferriss Show

A slightly different approach to motivational podcasts is The Tim Ferriss Show. Tim Ferriss’s main claim to fame is as the renowned author of the revolutionary book The 4-Hour Workweek, which has rocked the paradigms of the business world for a good number of years. Tim has been described as the world’s best human guinea pig due to his self-experimenting approach to life. His podcast is by no means a high-energy “you can do this” motivational show, but rather, it features in-depth conversations with dynamic and often eclectic people who are experts and game-changers in their fields.

There’s something intrinsically motivating about hearing confident, successful people sharing their input and perspectives, their favorite books, or even their morning routines. As you listen, you glean these wonderful nuggets for success as you learn the tips and tricks of highly successful individuals. These, in turn, will help motivate you in your own pursuit of success. The episodes are a little lengthy, but are full of all good stuff and will have you focused and motivated to face the day’s challenges head-on.

6. Spark Joy

The name “Marie Kondo” and her ninja-like organizing skills, now known as the KonMari Method, swept into our lives and onto our screens and the world is a cleaner and less-cluttered place as a result. Her book, Spark Joy, had us evaluating all our earthly possessions by that simple phrase, and boxing and donating everything that did not, in fact, spark joy.

The Spark Joy Podcast, hosted by KonMari consultants, Kristyn Ivey and Karin Socci, seeks to keep us motivated to live our lives simplified and clutter-free. If you’re looking for some inspiration to sort out your hoarding habits in this new year, or if you’re just looking for ways to reinvent your spaces, give this podcast a listen. It’s jam-packed with expert opinions, valuable encouragement and great insights to finding and flaming that spark of joy in your life. So if one of your New Year’s resolutions is to finally clear out that clutter you’ve been holding onto, or your soul is just needing a joy boost, then you need to add this podcast to your library…pronto!

8. Before Breakfast

Our last offering of top motivational podcasts we’re subscribing to this year is proof that dynamite comes in small packages.
